With only 4 days left until I depart for my study abroad trip in Greece, I wanted to share with you all some words and helpful information for anyone planning a trip soon.
I always knew I wanted to study abroad; there is valuable knowledge in immersing yourself in another country’s culture, knowledge that you truly cannot get elsewhere. Studying abroad is an experience of a lifetime, and I am so excited to go on my trip. If you choose to embark on an education abroad program, not only will you experience sights and opportunities you may never see again, but you will also be setting yourself apart from the rest of your peers for whatever career path you want to follow. Studying abroad provides both personal, professional, and academic benefits, proving itself worthy of an investment of your time.
There was a lot of preparation to get to this point of excitement and anticipation without feeling that I was forgetting something. I am sure many of you reading this are either on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or all of the above. If so, I encourage you to search the destination of your study abroad program and see what others are saying. Write down or save their tips and tricks somewhere, so you will remember them when the time comes for you to leave. Pack in advance for your trip- at least a week or two. That way, you have time to grab any last-minute things. As always, don’t let the nervousness of leaving and meeting new people, or staying in a new place, lessen the excitement of going abroad. It is going to be a great time- just make sure to do your research and bring back lots of souvenirs!
