Education Abroad Grant

Each year the Education Abroad office awards many scholarships/grants to UA students who plan to study abroad.  Winners are chosen based on academic merit, financial need, community/campus involvement and the abroad program’s applicability to the student’s future or career goals.

Who’s eligible: UA students going on an approved study abroad program

App Deadlines: Summer/Fall March 1st : Spring October 15th 

Honors Study Abroad Scholarship

Starting December 2019, the Education Abroad office, will partner with the Honors College to administer scholarships that support Honors student’s study abroad experiences. These Travel Honors Scholarships include the Allen L. Yeilding Endowed Travel Support Fund, the Cox International Study Fund  (awarded to students going to Italy or France), and the McWane Honors Program Endowed Travel Support Scholarship.​

International Scholarship for Culverhouse College of Business Students

This scholarship is open to any student majoring in The University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Business who will study abroad for academic credit in the Summer term(s). The study abroad opportunity can be an internship abroad, but the internship must be taken for academic credit.

Dylan Bernstein Memorial Scholarship

Dylan lived every day with his fun and goofy demeanor, going on wild adventures, playing sports, working at the dog shelter, and being friendly to anyone who he crossed paths with. He fully embodied the phrase “Carpe Diem”.  With the help of CEA, the Bernstein Scholarship is offered annually to a UA student participating in a CEA program. The award is up to $4,000.

Rotary Club of Tuscaloosa Undergraduate Scholarships

Each year the Rotary Club of Tuscaloosa awards scholarships to UA students for participation in study abroad or domestic activities that align with the mission of Rotary.

Edward H. Moseley Endowed Scholarship

The Edward H. Moseley Endowed scholarship is awarded to support a student who is applying or participating in a study abroad or research in Latin America, during either the interim, summer or fall session, in an attempt to broaden their education experience through immersion in non-native language and culture.

Who’s Eligible: Summer or Fall Student studying in Latin America

Ian Clough Explore the World Scholarship

Ian passed away in a boating accident on July 13, 2019.  He was extremely witty, clever, loyal, kind and loving.  He is greatly missed, but will forever live in our hearts and memories. We hope that his passion for exploration will be passed on to others through this scholarship fund.

CIC Endowed funded by JVC, MBUSI, Tuscaloosa Sister City

Tuscaloosa Sister Cities International exists to promote long term, global people-to-people relationships through the development of international leadership, friendship and understanding. It seeks to facilitate productive partnerships with cultural, educational, and commercial entities. Tuscaloosa Sister Cities International provides an avenue for the people in each city to develop friendly and mutually beneficial personal and professional relationships, and to work together in facing the unique and diverse challenges and opportunities of the future. This endowment was established to help students to forward the mission of Tuscaloosa Sister Cities International.
