For the rest of my time in Spain, I made sure to spend as much time with my new friends as possible. Before my trip, I was so worried about making friends, but now I know I had nothing to worry about. The people I have met during my time abroad have left a big impact on me, and because of all of the activities we had together It was hard to not become close with them. I think the hardest part about making these friends was leaving them. We spent so much time together and made such strong connections that it was hard to leave. Knowing that we already had plans to see each other again made it possible. In our last two weeks, we made sure to do everything we had on our bucket lists. One of the days, we took a day trip to Valencia to visit the beach where one of us got stung by a jellyfish, and all of us got a sunburn. Despite that, I wouldn’t have changed a single thing about that day. The day before I left, we had our graduation ceremony where we received certificates, ate paella, and said goodbye to our professors. It was a very bittersweet moment knowing that this experience helped me learn and grow but also knowing that it was coming to an end. That afternoon, my friends and I went to a photo booth where we were able to take photos and turn them into keychains which has become one of my most prized possessions. Now that my time in Spain is over, I feel sad to leave the country. However, knowing that I have met people that I can see all the time at college has made leaving so much easier. This experience has been something I know I will never forget, and I hope that I can visit Spain again soon.
