After spending a month in Tours, France, I have had numerous interesting experiences. The culture shock has worn off, and I have adjusted to life here. Classes were intensive, and my French has improved a lot since I’ve been here. The Language and Culture Study Abroad programs are worth it. I’ve gotten better with my conversation skills in French. I have seen many castles since being here, and different historical structures. It definitely doesn’t take long to adjust to new towns here. I was able to learn the metro system and where the nearest stores were pretty quickly. I also took time to find the nearest restaurants. I recommend eating things that are popular or unique in the country you are visiting. I have had a lot of amazing food since landing here. 2 days ago, I left Tours to go to Paris. I preferred Tours over Paris because it was easier to get around, but Paris is nice too. I have made sure that I have time to do the things I want to do most here. I would suggest getting tickets and planning things out before you leave for your trip to make sure nothing sells out and you have time to see everything you want to. The catacombs of Paris were sold out, but I was able to do plenty of the things that I wanted to. It can get stressful and tiring after being in a different country for a while, so it is important that you make sure you have time to relax too. I fly out in three more days, so I’m definitely going to make the most of my time in Paris!
