As I finish up my junior year, I can’t believe I’m just weeks away from heading off on my study abroad adventure to Ghent, London, and Amsterdam! I’ve always dreamed of traveling, and when I learned about this program, I knew it was the right opportunity for me. The amount of time abroad did not intimidate me seeing as it was only 16 days. The timing worked out perfectly—junior year felt like the right moment to go, and this program checked all the boxes: academic fit, exciting locations, and a chance to experience completely different cultures in one trip.

That said, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous. This will be my first time traveling abroad, and that definitely brings a mix of emotions. I’ve been thinking a lot about how different things might be—language barriers, navigating new cities, even just getting used to different food and routines. But I’m trying to take those nerves and turn them into excitement.

Right now, I’m in full-on prep mode—figuring out what to pack, making sure my passport is ready, and trying to learn as much as I can about each place. I’m also preparing mentally by talking to friends who’ve studied abroad and reminding myself that being a little uncomfortable is part of the growth.

My biggest goals are to step out of my comfort zone, meet new people, and soak up as much culture as I can. I want to come back with new perspectives, unforgettable memories, and a better understanding of the world—and of myself.
