The anticipation for my study abroad trip had been on the back burner while I finished my Spring semester finals and moved out of my current housing at UA. Once that was complete on Friday, it began to set in that in a few short days, I would be on my way to Dubrovnik, Croatia. I was slightly apprehensive just because of the unknowns, and this trip was my first time going to Europe. I spent the two days before the trip with my Mom in Atlanta since my flight was scheduled to leave Atlanta airport on Sunday morning. My time in Atlanta was spent doing a few touristy things like visiting the Georgia Aquarium and eating at the Dwarf House Chick-fil-A. Both were really cool experiences. I also spent the time making several CVS runs for items I needed and trying to figure out what to pack. It was a little stressful having to pack clothes for 3 weeks and knowing what things I might find helpful. The packing cubes were clutch in making sure everything fit in my bag and wasn’t over-stuffed!

On Sunday morning, I said my goodbyes to my Mom at the airport, and I was off. Travel out of Atlanta is always crazy, and my flight was delayed almost 2 hours. Luckily, I planned an extra-long layover in Newark, and that paid off. Newark has been experiencing many ground stops, due to FAA issues, so I felt very fortunate to be able to make all my connections and board the plane to Dubrovnik as planned. I am ready to experience all the amazing things this Study Abroad trip has to offer, and very thankful that I have this opportunity to meet new people and experience new cultures!
