Hi, my name is Georgia, and I have been blessed with the opportunity to study abroad with The University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Business. My fellow classmates and I are traveling to Cairns, Australia; Sydney, Australia; and Auckland New Zealand. I chose to do study abroad because it has been a lifelong dream of mine to travel to Australia. The University of Alabama has given me the opportunity to gain education while simultaneously exploring the incredible environment and culture of Australia and New Zealand. So far I have made a check list for my travels, and I have printed off all my legal/ important information necessary. Before making my decision, I had to think about how I was going to pay for my trip. Thankfully I was granted multiple scholarships, and I had to pay bare minimum out of pocket. I am extremely excited to see what all my study abroad trip has to offer, and I can not wait to take photos and send them to my friends back home. As funny as this sounds, I am also excited to hear the accents of foreigners. I have always loved foreign accents, so it will be cool to be around them for a couple of weeks. On a more serious note, my expectations for my trip are set high. I want to meet many companies and network with them. Possibly being able to apply for an internship across seas next semester. At the end of the day however, I just want to meet everyone possible and be enriched in the culture.
