The unknown of studying abroad can be very scary. At least for me, I am used to my small town in Alabama and not experiencing too many other cultures. Going out of the country has always been on my bucket list. When this opportunity came up I knew I couldn’t pass on it.

Studying abroad is an exciting opportunity I have always dreamed of. I am eager to grow professionally and socially from this trip. As a finance and cybersecurity student, I am very interested in learning about Panama’s international market. Because of the Panama Canal, there is no better place to see how trade affects the global market and trade. I am looking forward to meeting many business executives and networking with them while abroad. Learning how businesses work in the finance and cybersecurity field on an international level will be very beneficial for my future career.

Beyond learning and networking, I am excited to learn and experience the culture of Panama. I am looking forward to trying all the different authentic Panamanian foods. This experience will give me a deeper understanding of Panama’s culture and its perspectives. I have always wanted to study abroad, but for most programs, the cost is very high. I am so thankful for the faculty and alumni who made this trip affordable. The program they have made aligns perfectly with my career goals while remaining within my budget. I can’t wait to arrive in Panama and immerse myself in their culture and learn from many local executives about their businesses.
