It was a long travel day back home; I slept the majority of the time on my flights. Arriving to the first of many airports in the U.S. was interesting. A mixture of the bittersweetness of such a crazy experience and the relief of getting home. I got home technically the next day at 12 am after getting food. My mom was there to give me a hug and was happy I made it back safe. I talked with some of my family and gave everyone their souvenirs. The next day I slept, unpacked, and packed to head back to campus. I’m a Residential Advisor, so I had to leave for training and move-in. I really didn’t have time to decompress, but I was really missing my friends, since we all didn’t leave the same day, and lots of us were posting about our time abroad. It made me really think I was actually back in the states, and the norm I was accustomed to was no longer. The best advice I could give is to take everything in. Try to do everything you want to do while abroad, while also being comfortable taking much-needed time for yourself. What I wished I knew before was the unpredictability of spending. Try to have more than what you expect to spend while abroad. Packing tips if you know you like to shop a lot, get the luggage for it. Many of my friends had to buy extra luggage because they didn’t take that into account. Most of my money was spent on food and experiences so I was fine with one big suitcase. Travel tip: try to plan the activities and trips you want to do. Spontaneous activities are good occasionally, but it does get overwhelming time managing that. Overall, studying abroad has always been a dream of mine.  I met so many people from different places and made some amazing friends! I got to get out of my comfort zone, see, and learn so much. I will forever cherish my time abroad!
