I originally decided to study abroad at the University of Oxford because I was able to take the classes I needed in the environment of such a prestigious university. Prior to leaving, I had never been to Europe or been out of the country for an extended period, and I was unsure what to expect. I was also nervous because I did not know anyone else who was in my program, and I hoped that I would be able to make friends. After being at Oxford for the last week and a half, I can confidently say that it has been the best decision of my life to study here. I have made the most incredible group of friends, and we even traveled to Scotland together for the weekend with two more weekend trips planned!

Our program also took a trip to London for a day to see a play at Shakespeare’s Globe, and as a long-time lover of Shakespeare, I had the most incredible time. The city of Oxford is also incredibly beautiful and historic, which never ceases to amaze me. One of my favorite parts about Oxford is its libraries, and I could not be more grateful to have the most beautiful studying spot and access to priceless pieces of literature. To any student studying abroad who may be nervous about not knowing anyone and does not know what to expect, I can confidently say that I have expanded my worldview, grown academically, and made some of my best memories through studying abroad. I hope to cherish and make the most of the remainder of this month, and keep making more memories!
