These photos were taken at Mole National Park in Larabanga, Ghana. From where we were staying in Elmina, it took about 12 hours, broken up into two days, to reach. Before entering the park, we were advised not to feed the baboons because they can be aggressive. Later, we went on a night safari, where we saw many kob, a type of antelope. The next morning, we got in the jeep to go searching for elephants. Just a few short minutes into our drive, we spotted an elephant. He was so large and looking for a drink of water, so we had to get out of his way quickly. A couple of minutes later, we got out of the jeep and walked out to where a couple of them were feeding on grass and leaves. I was so fascinated to see how elephants look in real life. They are humongous but have bony legs. It’s so funny how their ears resemble the shape of the continent they originate from! When they look at you head-on on they are quite intimidating, but from the side, they look very sweet and calm. We snapped some photos with them and headed on our way to observe more of the biodiversity. I had an awesome time at the national park, and it was worth the long journey to get there.
