Studying abroad with UA was the best thing I’ve ever done—and not just because of the locations, but because of the people. I fell in love with Croatia: cliff jumping into the Adriatic Sea, wandering through Old Town Dubrovnik, and living out my Mamma Mia dreams. My biggest tip? Pack more than two swimsuits—you’ll need them.

Also, bring practical sweaters, a rain jacket or umbrella, and definitely jeans. The weather in places like Prague can surprise you, and you’ll want layers you can rewear.

One thing that shocked me was how much English people spoke. While it made things easier, I wish I’d taken time to learn a few phrases in the local languages—it shows respect and deepens the experience.

Don’t skip cultural experiences. It’s easy to get caught up in the nightlife, but the real magic comes from immersing yourself—trying new food, walking tours, learning history. Trust me, it’s worth it.

sleeping mask and neck pillow saved me on all the buses, trains, and flights. Total lifesavers. And plan your spending! As soon as I got to Europe, I wanted to blow my budget on designer (VAT refunds are real). If you know you’re a shopper—budget for it. And apply for scholarships—they helped me so much.

Lastly, maintain a little routine. I started walking in the mornings and journaling every night. It grounded me and helped me take in everything I was experiencing.

Say yes, explore often, and soak up every minute—you’ll never forget it.
