Hi there! My name is Willow and I’m going on the UA in South Korea trip to study advertising and public relations strategies internationally!

I’m currently 18 days out from flying to Incheon Airport, and I won’t lie, I’m a little nervous. I’ve never flown internationally by myself. It is a very daunting task! I keep watching videos on TikTok that explain how to navigate international airports by yourself, and I’m hoping that the information sticks.

I wanted to go to South Korea because I grew up in an area with a large Korean-American population. I remember hearing my friends talk about flying to Seoul to see their family and all the cool things they saw. When I had the opportunity to go on this trip, I knew I had to.

Packing-wise, I’m feeling well prepared. I’ve heard not to overpack, so I’m planning on taking only a few items of everything. I’ve been told I’ll get a new wardrobe once I go shopping in Seoul anyways. The real thing I’m thinking about packing is the stuff I’ll need on the plane. A 15 hour flight is not for the faint of heart!

All in all, I’m spending my time just going about my normal summer schedule. I’m working part-time at a film developing lab back home, and I’m loving every second of it. I’m planning on taking a couple cameras on the trip and everyone I work with is excited to see how my South Korea film turns out!

I hope that I learn a lot about the South Korean culture while I’m abroad. I want to see the world from different perspectives and this is such a great opportunity for that! Also…I can’t wait for the food!
