Wow! What a vibrant, lively, and engaging city! I had no expectations when I signed up for this facility led study abroad. Was beyond excited to experience a new side of the globe I have not yet been able to see.

I have now been here for about three days, during my short time here I already feel like my eyes have been opened wide to new cultures and ways of life. Every person I have met here is kind and excited to talk with you, all in really good English. I have seen that the work ethic here is something that is at there core. Each person I have seen works to the best of their ability and doesn’t stop short. I have been able to meet with several CEOs and professionals in the tech, retail, manufacturing and investment industries. From these pitches, I have seen the impact of each small step of a supply chain and also how much our markets in the US are shaped by the people here.

One very notable thing I have experienced in my first few days in the country is that everyone travels on motor bikes and at high speeds with very little traffic law considerations. This is something I don’t believe I will ever be used too. All hours of the night and day here in Ho Chi Minh City there is thousands of motor bikes zipping down every street never stopping for pedestrians or other cars. When crossing the street it truly is like a game of Crossy Roads!

Over all this experience has already been transformative and it has only been three days. I am beyond excited to see where the rest of this study abroad will take me and show me much more on how different parts of the world are not only different then my way of life, but also show me how similar we all are as humans and that the love we have for family and culture are constant throughout the globe.
