After our travels in Croatia, we moved to Venice. Venice was an interesting part of the trip, as it was both beautiful and also extremely touristy. Everything was packed, and there were vendors everywhere selling and soliciting tourists. However, we saw some beautiful sights, including Doge’s Palace and several museums. We also took a Gondola ride, where we met a solo British traveler who was a teacher, and she took a group picture for all of us. Some of the best parts of the trip were the organic conversations I had with strangers. After Venice, we traveled to Florence, where I had the best meal of the trip. I had homemade pasta with cheese that was melted from a cheese wheel that was set on fire with bourbon. I will never forget eating here. Florence was actually one of my least favorite spots on the trip, but I also didn’t experience it fully. While staying in Florence, we took a day trip to Rome. As a huge fan of both the original Gladiator and the sequel, I was excited to see the Colosseum, and got to step foot on the Colosseum floor. I also walked the Roman forum and saw some great sights.

Milan was our last city on the trip, and my favorite city in Italy. It felt like Italy’s New York, with all of the great food, shopping, and sightseeing spots. The Duomo was beautiful and we spent the day walked around that area, and I also spent way too much money at a lot of the stores. On the last night in Milan, we attended an AC Milan game, which was a once in a lifetime experience, seeing a European football game.

Overall, this trip was an amazing experience and I would love to do it again. I learned so much about Europe and about international travel, including about the economies of European countries. I look forward to traveling again!
