Arriving in the United Kingdom from the United States has been nothing short of transformative. Stepping into Oxford felt like entering a different world—one steeped in centuries of tradition, stunning architecture, and a vibrant academic culture.
Our purpose here is primarily academic, and our days are now filled with rigorous coursework in English, history, and the challenging honors track. We’ve joined the close-knit community of Worcester College, and although we’re still adjusting, it already feels like a place where deep learning and lasting friendships take root.
The first week has been a whirlwind of orientation and exploration. We’ve spent much of it navigating the city, learning how to get to our main lecture halls and identifying the iconic landmarks that draw visitors from around the world. Beyond maps and monuments, though, the most rewarding part has been connecting with others—both familiar classmates and new peers who share our academic passions.
Despite the short time we’ve been here, meaningful friendships are forming, and we’re already immersed in the rhythm of Oxford life. Our class excursions and a weekend adventure to London have only added to the excitement, blending education with unforgettable experiences.
