I landed at the airport around noon in Paris, France and took a bus to Tours, France to meet my host family after landing. I was tired and super nervous to meet them. Meeting them eased some of my worries a bit, and the country is so beautiful. I cant wait to go see things. I start classes Monday, and I am a little nervous for that. I am very beginner level in French, so it is difficult to get by, but I think this experience will help me understand more. I am super excited to see the castles and gardens. On my first night, I did find it difficult to sleep, but I’m hoping that I will adjust. Talking with my host family is tough due to the language difference, but I am doing my best to understand them. I am hoping that I can fall into a routine and adjust quickly. I can’t wait to see what France has to offer. For traveling, I would definitely recommend that all your bags zip, so it will be a lot easier to carry, and to sleep on the plane if you can. I was super tired when meeting my host family, which can lead to you being more stressed. Also, I recommend that if you get stressed, you do something that you normally do in your routine back home. For example, I got super nervous my first night and was having trouble sleeping so I watched a YouTube video from one of my favorite youtubers. If you’re worried or stressed, I would recommend reading your favorite book, or watching something you enjoy.
