I finished my classes 3 days ago, and now I’m preparing to take my very long flight back home. Right now, I feel extremely excited to be heading back because I really miss being able to communicate easily and naturally with everyone around me. Living in Seville has been an amazing experience, but the language barrier has been one of the hardest parts for me. I can’t wait to see my family again, interact with them, and make my return to working a job. I also miss driving and now I can avoid 20–40-minute walks frequently.

The ending of my classes felt very bittersweet. On one hand, I’m ready to be home, but on the other, I’m sad to leave behind my teachers and the routine I got used to here. I performed fairly well in both of my classes, which I credit to my helpful teachers. My Spanish teacher Elena is to credit for my basic Spanish getting better, and me and Mrs. Susana had a great teacher-student relationship from day one. They were very understanding and really made sure I learned as much as possible. I formed great connections with them and always felt comfortable asking questions or just having conversations.

My last two weeks in Seville were honestly some of the best. I felt more confident navigating the city and speaking basic Spanish. I spent time revisiting some of my favorite spots and enjoying the warm weather. Even though I wasn’t the biggest fan of all the food at first, I discovered a few dishes I ended up really liking.

Overall, I’m grateful for this experience and everyone I met here. Seville gave me memories I’ll never forget, but now I’m ready to go home and continue my next chapter of life back at home!
