This week has been all about preparation as my team and I dedicated countless hours to perfect our product idea for the expo on Friday at the European Innovation Academy. We showcased our app, Divyde, aimed at revolutionizing bill splitting. It was rewarding to present our innovation to other talented students, faculty and experienced mentors in the program The valuable feedback and connections we received have motivated us for the final pitch day.

In between the business of work for EIA, my friend and I managed to carve out some time to explore the city of Porto. We spent a day wandering through the streets, immersing ourselves in the rich history and vibrant culture. A memorable evening was spent watching the sunset at the beach while eating delicious pizza.

The beauty of Porto never ceases to amaze me. One evening, all of the UA students embarked on a sunset cruise down the Douro River, capturing breathtaking views of the city’s enchanting skyline. On another occasion, we indulged in a chocolate-tasting experience at Chocolataria Equador where we each took home four bars of the incredible chocolate we tried.

This past weekend was adventure-packed as my friend and I ventured to Nazaré Beach, where we paddle-boarded in the ocean, embracing the scene around us. The following day, we explored Braga, visiting the impressive Sanctuary of Bom de Jesus do Monte and enjoying a relaxing boat ride around a pond. In Guimarães, we hiked up to Miradouro da Penha, marveling at the amazing panoramic views.

As my second week in Porto has come to a close, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities, experiences, and friendships this program has brought into my life. From preparing and pitching our innovation at the expo to exploring the hidden gems of Porto and beyond, the week has been unforgettable. The European Innovation Academy has not only expanded my horizons professionally but has also allowed me to immerse myself in the beauty of Portugal. I am excited about what my last week in Portugal has in store!
