Today marks 45 days since I’ve arrived in Rome, Italy so without further ado let’s get right into the process of getting here and getting settled into my new home.

Traveling to Rome with my mom and my best friend(Emma) was the most comforting thing ever. We left for Rome a week prior to the start date of my program to get acclimated to the time difference and to make a mini vacation out of it! I chose to attend John Cabot University and also came through a provider that UA helped me find, SAI. Picking a provider comes down to personal preferences but picking SAI was one of the best decisions I made!

Moving into our apartment: Emma and I are sharing a room and we have two other housemates that are sharing a room. Our apartment surpassed my expectations by a great deal. It is very Italian and quirky!

After getting our apartment set up it was time for my mom to travel back to the US. Emma and I quickly set out on a new journey, to meet friends for life. We joined in on every trip possible through SAI( free with tuition) to meet people in our program to make JCU feel a little more like home. I am so grateful we were able to make friendships that I know will last a lifetime!

School here is only Monday through Thursday and then there are make-up days that are sometimes held on Friday. I chose to only have classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am taking five classes starting at 8:30 am going until 4:15pm with only 45 minutes for lunch but it is so worth it. When not in class I am able to spend my weekends traveling. So far I have been to 8 countries and I am just getting started as Tomorrow starts spring break! Stay tuned for a blog coming soon regarding the places I’ve been and how they’ve helped shape me into who I am now.

Overall, after being here for only 45 days, I am so happy to say Roma is my home. I love the people, the food, and the culture as a whole.

Thanks for tuning in, talk soon<3.
