Now that I’ve come to a small break in my travels, I figured it was a good time to write my third blog post. This past month, I have had the opportunity to visit Barcelona, Paris, Amsterdam, and Lisbon, all while keeping up with my studies in Dublin! The way I arranged my class schedule has allowed me to travel Thursday through Sunday each week. Of those four, Lisbon was definitely my favorite, as the day trips that were easily accessible in Portugal were unreal. The first day we went to Sintra, a very wealthy municipality outside of Lisbon. In Sintra there are numerous castles. One of which, the Moorish Castle, is my favorite spot I’ve been to in all of Europe! I have included a picture of this surreal castle in this post. The next day I went to Peniche, a famous fishing village that attracts surfers from all around the world due to its uniquely choppy waves. We took a ferry from Peniche to Berlengas, an island 6 miles off the coast, which was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been in my life. They only allow 550 concurrent visitors, but it seemed that even with the nice weather on the day that we went, there were less than 100 there. For me, Portugal is going to be very hard to beat, however I have hope that my upcoming trip can meet the standard. Now that classes are over, I am embarking for Copenhagen, Munich, Switzerland, Romania, Istanbul, Greece, and Croatia!
