Now that I have left Europe and have been hope for a month, I have been able to look back at my experience and appreciate what has happened this summer. If you have the opportunity to go abroad for an internship or classes… do it. It is such an amazing experience and unique opportunity to see the world. My best advice for future study abroad students is to take a risk and get out of your comfort zone. Going abroad, especially without knowing someone, can be very scary but you never know who you are going to meet and what you are going to see. I would recommend talking to different people in your program to try and meet as many people as you can. I also highly recommend traveling on the weekend. It is a great chance to see different places at a cheaper cost. I also recommend staying in hostels when you travel on the weekend to keep the costs down. One thing I wish I did when I went abroad was keep a journal to write down what I did and saw every day. This way I could look back on all the adventures I had. I would highly recommend packing lighter than you think and less athletic clothes. I say to pack lighter because you will end up shopping and buying clothes that you won’t be able to get in the united states. I also found that not a lot of Europeans wore athletic clothes and I found myself sticking out when I wore it. I am so thankful for my time abroad and would love to do it again!
