As my study abroad experience has come to an end, I can truly say that this experience has changed my life. The best advice I can give you is to come in with an open mind and be willing to try new things. For example, being open to trying the food that your host makes you even if it looks like something you might not like. I can honestly say I learned that I liked some things I originally thought would be bad. Additionally, put yourself out there to make friends with people in your program. They are all going through the same thing as you and it is easy to bond in an unfamiliar environment together. I met some great people from all over the US whom I am now friends. I wish someone would have told me that it is ok to feel uncomfortable at first and wonder if you made the right decision. I had honestly had that moment and I thought I shouldn’t have had It, but looking back it was okay because it was something that was totally new. If I were to give travel advice it would be to make you have some sort of weekend bag so when you travel you do not have to bring a suitcase. Additionally, make sure you have the right adapter not only for the country you are studying in but also the adapter for the other countries you visit because they will not always be the same. I wish everyone that gets to study abroad to have a wonderful experience but to make sure you truly enjoy every part because it flies by.
