Upon returning to the United States, I am so grateful I was able to go on the trip. Europe is an incredible place, that I must return to again someday. The transportation getting back home, with all the airfare problems going on in the world, was a little frustrating, but it all ended up working out. Our flight to Birmingham got canceled, and a parent had to come pick us up from Atlanta, but that was the only problem flying home! I missed my family and friends, and normalcy, so it was nice getting back home; However, I really do miss Europe. Studying abroad changed my perspective on how I look at work life balance, public transportation, and the importance of art, architecture, and culture. I also miss the friends I made while abroad, I plan on meeting up with them when we are all back in Tuscaloosa! Since I’ve gotten back, I’ve watched a lot of movies and it is cool to see places you’ve been in the movies. “Casino Royale” is based in Venice, and it’s awesome seeing James Bond in the same place I was. I missed American food a lot, and in a weird way, I also look at America as a more beautiful place than before. I would recommend studying abroad to anybody, and the biggest piece of advice I have is to research the history of a place before you go! It’s a lot more interesting when you know the buildings and significance of things you are looking at in person. It is also a great way to connect with professors. Two accounting professors lead our trip, which is great since I plan on going to graduate school at Alabama. They made the trip fun and safe, and it was nice knowing someone was there to help you. Overall, I loved it and will remember it for the rest of my life!
