I arrived in Paris a day before the rest of my fellow students, eager and excited to finally start my study abroad journey. Once my fellow students arrived we immediately began our adventure by going to the Garden of Luxembourg next to our hotel. Within a week, we visited just about every museum and tourist attraction Paris had to offer. Within a few days, I had the pleasure of meeting every one of my fellow classmates from Alabama. . One of my favorite experiences during my Paris visit was when we had the chance to visit the Paris Opera and see multiple performances. My other favorite experience was being able to visit the tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte, and having a military background myself, it was a very unique experience for me. After our week in Paris, we were headed south to a small city called Tours where we were received by our host families, . my host is named Rene and due to her not being able to speak much English I was able to step my french game up while only being here for about a week and a half I have been told that my French has definitely improved. After being in classes for less than two weeks I have learned and grasped french grammar such as past tense, imparfait, and conndtionnel, which I was never able to fully understand back in the states until now. I am very excited to see what the next few weeks of my journey has in store for me and to see how much more my french improves.
