Currently, I am sitting at the Atlanta airport thinking about my time abroad. I have never been more excited to be at an airport. I am so ancy to be back in Indiana. It is crazy to me that I am actually back in the United States. It’s like when I first got to Germany, I was like whoa I’m in Germany, a whole other country. Now I’m thinking that about the USA. I am excited to be home. I had a really wonderful time abroad, and I cannot wait until I am able to venture back to Germany and Europe, but I missed home. I do miss Germany, especially the drinks there. And how cheap their food is.

I think my study abroad experience changed me as a person. Because of the group I was with, I think I realized the people I choose to be around. I know what I do and do not like when it comes to choosing friends.

I feel more experienced as a person. After visiting the host country of the Holocaust, I do feel different. I used to be so interested and excited to learn more about the Holocaust and Hitler and the Nazis. Now, I am truly disgusted. I was disgusted before, of course. But actually being there and visiting concentration camps, where they show you where millions of people have died was life changing. I learned more than I ever could have imagined about Germany’s history.

This is just my first experiences being back from studying abroad, so I wonder how I will feel in two weeks…
