As my month in Ireland comes to an end, I can’t help but to think back on all of the things I have seen and done. In only 30 days, I have traveled across the south portion of the Ireland, from Dublin to Galway. I have made so many new friends from all over the United States. The classes I am taking have been extremely busy but also enjoyable. The history portion of the course was great because we were able to travel to a few of the sites that were mentioned in lectures, including a monastery built in the 11th century. We also had the opportunity to play in a baseball game to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first time baseball was played in Europe. It happened in Cork when the American troops came over for World War I. Not only did we get to play baseball with some local Irish, we were able to help raise money for the Irish guide dog services. Besides some minor roommate issues, my month in Ireland has been an absolute blast, though I am excited about returning home.
