I have been back at home for about a month now. When I first arrived back into the United States, I was very happy to see all of my family and friends. I really missed them all and could not wait to share my experience with them. The first thing I did when arriving at the Airport in Atlanta was eat at T.G.I. Friday. This is one of my favorite restaurants and I had been craving it since I arrived in Spain because they had one and I didn’t have the chance to eat there. Surprisingly, it wasn’t what I expected. Since arriving back into the U.S., I have realized that my taste buds aren’t exactly the same as when I left. I wasn’t craving the fast food and junk food that I longed for on a daily basis. Also my appetite decreased. I wasn’t able to eat as much as I used to.

My intake on food wasn’t the only thing that changed. I have also became more active and physically fit. Because we walked a lot in Spain and ate healthier and less processed foods, I actually lost a couple of pounds. I have been trying to maintain this with some form of exercise since I have been back. I have been walking more than I used to and I have been working out for 30 minutes at least three times a week.  Spain changed a lot of things about me, but they were all for the better.

There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about my amazing experience abroad. I miss all of my friends that I made while participating in the program. I also miss the wonderful atmosphere of Spain. Because of my first study abroad experience, I have now been thinking about traveling the world. I want to be able to experience all of the amazing gifts the world has to offer. I hope one day to be able to return to Spain. I can truly say that it was one of the best experiences of my life and I will forget it. Until next time España…

Muchas Gracias ,

Sierra
