UA in Germany: Honors – Global Perspectives through Intercultural Experience

Honors students will engage in a 3-credit Interim course to help ground them in the salient historical, political, social, and cultural issues that have contributed to shape 20th-21st German society. This course including 2 mandatory preparatory block seminars will culminate in a 20-day immersion experience that will focus on intercultural encounter and dialogue in cooperation with universities and international and industrial institutions in different German cities. The participants will attend seminars with international students and faculty at “Karlshochschule” International University in Karlsruhe and at the “JFK Institute” for North-American studies at the Freie Universität in Berlin. Additional stops are planned in Strasbourg (F), Cologne, Hamburg, Munich, and Stuttgart. Beside the academic program, there will be sufficient time to explore the environment through guided tours and individually. A nice addition will be the visit of popular Schloss Neuschwanstein leading in the beauty of the alpine south of Germany.
